It’s that time of the year: Shark Week – So what are the worst shark movies out there?

For the 23rd year in a row, Discovery Channel gives us “Shark Week” – and this year, comedian/host Craig Ferguson dives down with the beasts of the sea.

One problem with “Shark Week” is that it only lasts… well, a week.

So for the other 51 weeks of the year, we’ve got to rely on “Jaws” and “Open Water.”

If you’re looking for more of a laugh, though – I give you these 5 awful shark attack movies:

5. Sharks in Venice – Seriously. This was a movie. It does have a Baldwin brother in it, though.

4. Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus – “The California coast is terrorized by two enormous prehistoric sea creatures as they battle each other for supremacy of the sea.” Do yourself a favor and watch the trailer!

3. Raging Shark – This is a “low budget, straight-to-DVD” movie with “several hilariously bad moments that B movie shark fanatics will enjoy.

2. Shark Attack 3 – Megalodon – Not only is it a bad shark movie, some have it as one of the worst CGI special effects movies ever.  Not quite sure what a megalodon is, either.

1. Jaws 3D – While “Jaws” deserves the top spot for best shark attack movie, this ‘sequel’ deserves worst spot.  Maybe it would be cool now with ‘Avatar’-like special effects, but this one was made in 1983. Too bad it wasn’t “National Lampoon’s Jaws 3: People 0” as some had intended.
