Bugs Bunny celebrating his 70th birthday; Will these infamous animated friends be celebrating?

This week marks the 70th anniversary of Bugs Bunny’s debut. On July 27th, 1940, “A Wild Hare” was released featuring Bugs and his old pal, Elmer Fudd, where we were introduced for the first time to the immortal line, “What’s up, Doc?”

Among the other ‘Looney Tunes’ out there: Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester, Tweety, Marvin the Martian, Taz, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner, Yosemite Sam, Pepé Le Pew and Speedy Gonzales.

While all of these animated characters are notable for good reasons, do you remember these awful cartoon characters?

5. Snark (Thundercats) – Kind of like the ewoks of the Thundercat world…. but this series has the most amazing opening sequence, so that certainly has some redeeming factor.

4. Azrael (Smurfs) – His whole existence is based upon eating a smurf, and his laugh is just like that of supervillian, Gargamel. At least he’s smart enough to realize that all of their plans are destined to fail.

3. Care Bears (Care Bears) – All of them.  How did they go from the cover of greeting cards, to getting their own show, to starring in three feature films?

2. Orko (He-Man) and She-Ra – He-Man was awesome.  Adam, Prince of Eternia, not so much.  But nothing was more annoying than Orko, the comic relief of the series…  Then there was He-Man’s long-lost identical twin, She-Ra.  I wouldn’t be surprised to find out at the end of the series that Skeletor was their father.  Regardless, this creates a great excuse to watch this clip.

1. The Great Gazoo (The Flinstones) – Seriously?  A little green alien?  Perhaps his introduction to the story was when this show ‘jumped the shark.’ If you don’t remember him, do yourself a favor and click HERE.
